About Nathan Hobby
I
live in Perth with my wife Nicole.
A lot of my life seems focused on books, which sometimes seems like a good thing. I read a lot, I write and I work in a library.
My first novel, The Fur, was published in 2004 by Fremantle Press. My second, The House of Zealots, is in limbo while I wait to hear from the publisher. In 2009 I will be doing serious work on number three, The Library of Babel, as part of a Master of Arts at UWA.
I have a day job as the librarian at Vose Seminary.
My favourite novelists are Paul Auster and Ian McEwan. My favourite theologian is John Howard Yoder.
I’m a Christian in the Anabaptist tradition.
NOW UPDATED EVERY THURSDAY 3PM WST (+8GMT).
This blog is about the literary life of a writer in Perth. Expect reflections on reading and writing and feature posts on whatever's caught my attention, from historical curiousities to autobiographical reflections. I have a separate blog for theology -
Hiya, Nathan, thanks for the link. I’m wondering in which part of LISWA you work. I am often in there pursuing recalcitrant ancestors in the genealogical areas on the first and third floors.
Hi Archie! I’m often on third floor reference desk, but sometimes first. I’m sure I’ll run into you before too long. Your face does look familiar.
3 quick questions, that may require long answers…
what kind of a church are you hoping to plant,
whereabouts?
and why?
Cheers
Stephen Hall
Hiya Stephen,
Good to hear from you. Plans have changed – I should update this page! We were hoping to plant a house church in Nedlands, because we feel that a house church is a form of church which enables the body of Christ to work as it should. However, the last couple of months we’ve felt it’s not the right time to be doing this and we’re now getting more involved with what’s already happening at our local church.
Sorry, Wats this house church ?
Nathan:
Great to find you via a blog. If we can somehow hook up on e-mail I would like to reconnect. I am doing independent peacebuilding consulting and nonviolence education. peace..jon
